More than 200 people became ill on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, causing the ship to dock early at the Port of Baltimore, MD, on Monday.
Nine crew members and 193 guests aboard the MS Grandeur of the Seas experienced gastrointestinal symptoms, which accounted for about 11 percent of the ship’s population, CNN reported. Once the ship docked and passengers exited the ship, the cruise line began to sanitize the ship and terminal.
Norovirus is not a stranger to the Grandeur of the Seas. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tracked two other norovirus outbreaks on the ship last year.
